The Animals Dance

Dance course for 6-10 yrs

5 x 40 minute lessons

A fun, creative and edutaining dance course. Join the dancers as they teach you how to waddle like a penguin, jump like a monkey, slither like a snake and more… Includes music and sound effects for children to make up their own animal dance steps too! The challenge is to learn all the moves from the dancers in the video, then try and remember the whole dance –  all 9 different animal sections! There is even chance for children to make up their own animal dance steps too!

This dance course is suitable for children aged 7 – 11 years old and perfect for using in schools for covering the Primary Dance PE curriculum. It is very accessible for boys and girls and great for children with and without previous dance experience.

This course is broken down into 5 lessons – perfect for covering Dance as part of the PE curriculum. The recommended duration is around 40 minutes, however the creative taskes can be made shorter or longer depending upon the length of time you have. You can also cover more classes at once if you have the time – just miss out the extra warm up and cool down activities.

We have made the contant accessible to children with and without dance experience. Children who have dance experience can practise and perfect their dance technique by trying to get the movements exactly like the professional dancers, whilst those without much dance experience can create their own versions of the animal movements interpreting the dancers movements in their own way.

In each class, there is a section that asks the participants to choreograph their own movements to a given audio stimuli – great for developing creativity and imagination. This 5 week course builds upon learning each week and motivates children to learn, practisie and remember whast they have done; in this instance, a set dance sequence.
